Condolences to the family of Mr. Harold G. Shepherd of Selma, NC. Mr. Shepherd transitioned on Monday April 23 while a resident at Barbour Court Nursing and Rehab in Smithfield. Mr. Shepherd worked most of his life as a concrete contractor. He leaves to mourn his loss, wife Rev. Frances Shepherd, two sons; Decaris, Shelton, two grandchildren; D'Andre, Tymetrus, four brothers; Alvester, Elmo, James Wesley, Edward, six sisters; Irene, Velvaline, Elizabeth, Mildred, Bernice, Juliet and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Sat. April 28th at Holy Temple Church of God 228 Montgomery Heights Rd Selma. Funeral Home Viewing/visitation Fri 5 - 7 pm at the WSFH Chapel 302 S. We regret to inform you of the transition from labor to reward of Dr. Joseph Warren Jr., 69 of Smithfield formally of Mount Olive, N.C., Dr. Warren passed quietly away at his home on Friday March 23 rd . He is the son of the late Deacon Joseph and Peggy Warren Sr. of Mount Olive. Joseph attended Carver High School in Mount Olive and graduated in 1967, after graduation he continued earning various certifications and degrees. He was called into the ministry in 1978. He was the Pastor of the following churches under the Goldsboro Raleigh District Assembly Church of Christ Disciples of Christ; Sampson Chapel in Clinton, NC 1982 – 1988, St Stephens Church Trenton, NC 1988-1998, St. James Church in Mount Olive, NC 1998-2011 and St Stephens Church in Princeton 2013 until his death in 2018. Dr. Joseph Warren Jr. leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Linda Ray Warren of the home, two sons; Anthony Warren of Mount Olive NC., Torrio Warren of Goldsboro, NC., two daughters; Antonia King of Greensboro, NC., Karona Bryant (Derrick) of Warsaw, NC., one stepdaughter Rochelle Ray Kelly (Michael) of Columbia, SC., four brothers; David Warren of Virginia, James Warren (Linda) of Faison, NC., Ronnie Warren (Angelene) of Goldsboro, NC, Ronald Sellers Warren (Shirley) of Goldsboro, NC., one sister, Teresa Warren of Mount Olive, NC., nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Arrangements for Dr. Joseph Warren Jr. are scheduled for Tues March 27 at the Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly (GRDA) 211 W. Hooks River Rd., Goldsboro, NC 27530. Viewing will start at 11:00 am followed by Eulogistic Services at 12:00 noon. The family will welcome guests on Monday night from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at St. Stephens Church of Christ Disciples of Christ 308 W. 1st St., Princeton, NC for a viewing and a moment of reflections. Mr. Antonio "Tony" Ellis, age 50 of Lillington, NC departed this life on Saturday December 9, 2017 at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington, NC. Tony was the son of Mr. William Andrew Ellis (deceased) and Elizabeth Ellis. He also leaves to cherish his memories his wife Mary Ellis of 27 years daughter Donisha Lashe' Ellis two very special God-daughters Ashley Nicole Eason,Tiffany Lynette Eason, and one sister Sandra Solomon. Tony was a 1985 graduate of Smithfield-Selma Senior High School and attended Wake Technical Community College where he received his Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering. He worked for a number of years as a Supervisor at Champion until its closing. Following the plant closing he was employed by Tyco, as a Supervisor until his health would not allow him to continue. Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday December 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm Holy Temple Church of Selma Inc., 228 Montgomery Heights Rd Selma, NC 27576.
