Mr. George Anderson Pollard, age 87 born December 14, 1933 in Henderson, NC., transitioned on Wednesday April 21, 2021 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield, NC. He was the son of Leroy Pollard and Fannie Dorsey both deceased. Mr. Pollard was also predeceased by a brother Leroy Pollard Jr.
George attended Henderson Institute for Schooling. Following his education he joined the United States Marine Corps and where he served honorably. Upon leaving the Corps, Mr. Pollard began a career with the New York Transit System and served as a diesel mechanic where he retired. He was a devoted husband to his wife of 63 years Leola E. Pollard and father to his daughter; Georgina Cannady (Patrick), son; Jonathan Pollard, grandchildren; Sashea Davis, Maliek Harris, Premier Cannady, and great grandchild; A'Mari Stokes. He also leaves to cherish his memories two sisters; Jacqueline Manuel (Leo), Diana Williams (Arnold), and many other relatives and friends.
