James E. McLaughlin Jr., of Selma, NC, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the age of 79.

Born in Fayetteville, NC, he was the son of George and Lillie McLaughlin. James honorably served in the armed forces before dedicating decades of his life to a career as a professional truck driver.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanelle McLaughlin; his children; siblings; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service: Monday February 16, 2026, at Gray's Creek Missionary Baptist Church 4750 Grays Creek Church Rd., Hope Mills, NC 28348, Viewing from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon with funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon. Funeral services will be livestreamed via our Facebook page starting at 11:45 am.
