Mr. William Henry Mickens Jr.
Mr. William Henry Mickens Jr., was born February 16, 1946 in Johnston County NC. He was the son of William Henry Mickens Sr. and Mary Simmons Mickens. Mr. Mickens passed away on Sunday November 27, 2022 at Wake Med Hospital in Raleigh, NC.
William worked various jobs in his life including the construction of the Tootsie Railroad in the mountains of NC, Burlington Mills Textiles Co., and ConAgra Foods. He enjoyed a good game of pool and fishing, working on cars and playing the guitar.
William was preceded in death by both his parents William Henry Mickens and Mary Simmons Mickens, wife, Clara Jackson Mickens, sisters; Eva Godwin, Georgia Bradford, Lucy Mae Russell (Joseph) and a granddaughter.
Mr. Mickens leaves to mourn his lost, children; Barbara M. King (Gregory), Eva M. Spicer (Keefe), William Mickens III (Von), Latonya Livingstone ( Isac), and long time companion Annie "Goosey" Brockington, bonus children; Angela Darden (Andre), Serdella, Alphonso, Alonzo, one brother, Thurman Mickens (Ruby), four sisters; Josephine Brooks (Willie), Brenda Mickens, Mary M. Gulley (Jerry), Lavearn Olowni (James), brothers-n-law King Godwin, Leon Bradford and a host of grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services:
Saturday December 3, 2022 600 S. Pollock St., Selma, NC 27576 at 3:00pm. Viewing from 2:00pm until 3:00pm.
