Mr. Willie Herman Eldridge
Mr. Willie Herman Eldridge, age 96 was born in Wayne County, NC, April 19, 1925. Mr. Herman was the son of Mr. Herman and Viola Eldridge.
Following his High School education Mr. Eldridge attended North Carolina A&T College in Greensboro, NC until he was drafted into the U.S. army. He served honorably in the Korean War. After his service in the Army he returned home and began a career in nursing with Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro, NC and subsequently worked at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield, NC where he retired. He was also a long serving Deacon at Long Branch Church in Newton Grove, NC.
Mr. Willie was predeceased by his wife Cleo W. Eldridge. Mr. Eldridge leaves to cherish his memories, two children, Linda Viola Eldridge, Carnell Williams, two sisters, Mary Jane Little, Thelma Sherrod, He treated Cleo’s children as his own, they are Jean Cox, Shirley (Eugene) Thomas, and Bertha (Samuel) Williams. Also, the late Jessie Spells, Leroy and James Atkinson. numerous other relatives and friends.
