Ms. Annie L. Avery, age 79 of New York City passed away on Friday August 17, 2018. Ms. Avery was born April 9, 1939 her parents were Clarence and Clyda Avery. Ms. Avery attended Johnston County Training School and graduated with the class of 1957. She moved to New York and worked for Citibank where she retired.
Ms. Avery is survived by two children; Sheila Willoughby Pinkney, Benjamin Jerome Willoughby, two brothers; James Arthur Avery, David L. Avery a host of other relatives and friends.
A walk-thru will be held Friday August 24, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at The Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC.
Funeral Services are scheduled for Saturday August 25, 2018 at Wesley Chapel AME Church 867 Cleveland Rd., Smithfield, NC 27577. Viewing will begin at 10:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am.
