Ms. Katie Pearl Adams Spells age 86 of Philadelphia, PA died April 1, 2017. Mrs. Spells was born April 19, 1930 in Smithfield, NC to the late Ernest Adams and Celesta Price Adams. She was preceded in death by five siblings: Ernest Earman Adams, L.J. Adams, John Adams, Shirley Adams Scott, Ruth Adams Barnes, and her son Rollie Spells Jr.

She leaves to mourn a beloved son Michael Darryl Spells , two granddaughter; Rachel Nicole Spells, Jamine Mariah Spells, in addition to their mother Tarita Poulson Spells whom she considered her daughter, four sisters; Pearline Crowder, BettyChristmas, Ernestine Hinton, Janie Wiggins and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Felicia Moore was a special niece who provided special and exemplary care to her Aunt Katie.

Services for Mrs. Spells are scheduled for Saturday April 15, 2017 at Lee's Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church 525 Lake Wendell Rd., Wendell NC., viewing starts at 2:00 pm at the church followed by funeral services at 3:00 pm.
