Ms. Annette L. Burns "Netta"

     Ms. Annette L. "Netta" Burns was born December 20, 1953, in Johnston County, NC. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Carroll and Pearline Burns. Netta passed away quietly on Wednesday September 23, 2026, while a patient at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC.

     Netta was educated in the Johnston County Public School System. After High School Netta attended Johnston Community College where she earned an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development.

Annette worked for at Fieldcrest Cannon for nearly 20 years, until the plant closed its operations in Smithfield, NC.

     Netta leaves to cherish her memory three children; Tameika Lee (Robert), Kimberly Williams (Tavaris), and Tyrone Burns, four siblings; Reginald "Pee Wee" Burns (Mary), Andre Sanders (Vivian), Mechelle Alford (Donald), LaTonya Sanders, and a sister-in-law Wanda Burns, six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many who simply called her "Grandma Netta".

Viewing: Sunday September 27, 2026, from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremations Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577.

Funeral Service: Monday September 28, 2026, at St. Peter Church of Christ DOC Church, 1011 E Massey St, Smithfield, NC 27577, viewing 10:00 am until 11:00 am and funeral service beginning at 11:00 am.
