Ms. Joyce Ann Artis Avery
Ms. Joyce Ann Artis Avery, age 71 transitioned peacefully on Wednesday July 13, 2022 while a resident at Sunnybrook Rehabilitation Center Raleigh, NC. Ms Joyce was born January 1, 1951 in Johnston County, NC, she was the daughter of Willie "June" Atkinson and Clara Bell Bridges.
Joyce granduated from Johnston Central High School, following high school she attended Johnston Community College. Joyce worked at Fieldcrest Mills, Devil Dog, and Days Inn of Selma, NC.
Ms. Joyce leaves to cherish her memories 2 daughters; Sharon Hewett, April Avery, her mother Clara Bridges, one brother Harvey Washington Jr., son-n-law Keath Hewett and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing - Friday July 22, 2022 from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577. (Facial coverings are required)
Funeral Services - Sunday July 24, 2022 viewing from 1:00pm until 1:30pm. Services will begin at 1:30pm at First Missionary Baptist Church 40 Durant Rd., Wilsons Mills, NC. (Face coverings are required) Services will stream live on our Facebook page starting at 1:25pm.
