Mrs. Frances Diane Surles Spruill

Frances Diane Surles Spruill, 72, of Selma, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 8, 2026, surrounded by love and peace. She was born on July 22, 1954, in Dunn, North Carolina, to the late Ida Mae Crisp and Sam Surles.

Frances was a dedicated and hardworking woman who devoted many years of service to her community. Throughout her working career, she was employed at Burlington Mills, Fieldcrest, and Channel Master. She also served as the head cook at Britthaven Rehabilitation Center in Smithfield, North Carolina, for several years, where she shared her skills and dedication with those she served.

Frances leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, William Spruill Jr.; her two daughters, Shebrail Raines and Michelle Royal; and other family members and loved ones who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her.

Frances will be remembered for the love she shared, the work she performed, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those who knew her. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will remain in the hearts of her family and loved ones forever.

Arrangements:

Viewing: Saturday from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremations 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577.

Funeral Services: Sunday Oct 18, Shiloh Christian Church 211 Durham St., Smithfield, NC, viewing from 1:30 pm until 2:00 pm with funeral services beginning at 2:00 pm.
