Mrs. Marie Lavern Whitley Neal
Marie Lavern Whitley Neal was born May 15, 1944 in Wilson’s Mills NC to George and Nora Whitley. She peacefully transitioned on February 8, 2022. In her 77 years on earth she was a great daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to many.
Marie was a very proud graduate of Johnston County Training School (J.C.T.S.).
She was a hard worker, and for many years she worked for K.R. Edwards, Sylvania, Fieldcrest Mills and Girsberger Industries in Smithfield, NC. Even in her busy schedule in life she made time for the Lord and serving him at her home church First Missionary Baptist Church in Wilson’s Mills, NC. Marie was a member of the senior choir at her church and enjoyed traveling with her siblings singing for the Lord on many occasions.
Funeral Service – Viewing
will be from 12:30 pm until 1:00 pm Sunday February 13, 2022 with the funeral service following at 1:00 pm. Services will be conducted at First Missionary Baptist Church, Wilson’s Mills NC 40 Durant Rd Wilson’s Mills, NC. Facial Coverings will be required. Interment will take place at the Wilson’s Mills Family Cemetery immediately following the services.
