Mother Burton was an accomplished life - long learner who earned many certifications,  Bachelors, and Masters degrees. She worked in various clerical and administrative positions in Baltimore and New York before relocating to spend her golden years in Smithfield, North Carolina. However, Mother Burton's most prized work was that of a stalwart soldier in the army of The Lord. She served faithfully as a prayer warrior and in other positions at The Tabernacle of Prayer for all People in Queens, New York and then Burning Bush Holiness Tabernacle in Smithfield,  North Carolina. She was known throughout the community for spreading hope, love, and the Good News.

Her memory will be cherished by her children, Mr. Leonard Crawford (Carol) and Mrs. Zina Wright (William); grandchildren, and countless other family members and friends. 

 Viewing and Visitation: Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at The Walter Sanders Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel, 302 S. Brightleaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC 27577. Homegoing Celebration: Sunday, March 5, 2023 - Viewing at 1:00 p.m. and services will begin at 1:30p.m. at The Burning Bush Holiness Tabernacle, 714 W. Market Street, Smithfield, NC 27577.
