Mr. George Thomas Whitley Sr. "Tommy"
Tommy passed away at his home in Smithfield, NC on Friday, May 20, 2022. His parents were the late George & Nora Whitley of Wilson’s Mills. Tommy attended Johnston County Training School (JCTS) and graduated with the “Class of 1957”.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents: George & Nora Whitley; his wife Ruby McKay Whitley, three brothers: Randy, Lenwood and Cornell; two sisters: Diane and Marie.
He leaves to cherish his lovely memories two sons: George T. Whitley Jr. and David Earl Whitley; four grandchildren: Jamaal, Naim, Gui-Nu and Solomon; ten siblings: Pherbia, Janet, Linda, Carolyn, Regina, Charles (Linda), Drew, Donald (Valerie), Ronald (Martha) and Russell; one aunt Fannie Wilder; two other sister-in-laws: Sylvia Whitley and Geraldine McKay; one brother-in-law: Bruce McKay and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
