Mr. Sherman Smith was born April 23, 1942 in Wake County to the late Beulah and James Smith. He transitioned from earth to heaven on Tuesday March 23, 2021 at Transitions Life Care in Raleigh, NC.
Sherman attended Johnston County Training School in Smithfield , NC. He was employed with JP Rodgers Construction where he worked over 20 years and retired from Construction Management.
Sherman was a kind man of inspiration who loved spending time with family and friends . He was a dedicated Christian and member of Union Hill AME Church; he was a trustee, a member of the choir, and the list goes on.
Preceding him in death was his Mother, Beulah Mae Smith , Father, James Smith, Brother Ben Smith and his Son Darrell Smith . He leaves to cherish his memories his Wife Pherbia Smith , his children, Wayne Smith (Mittie), Ralph Harris (Ira ), Lori Smith, Anthony Boylan , Shelia Watson, Cheryl Smith (Billy), Keith McClain, Annette McClain, Dexter McClain , Michael Frazier, Stacey Frazier (Tameka) and Shelby Frazier; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, family members and friends.

Viewing - Saturday March 27, 2021 at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd Smithfield, NC from 4:00pm until 6:00 pm. This is a walk thru viewing. Face coverings are required.
Funeral Services - 3:00 pm Sunday March 28, 2021 at New Generation Christian Church Wilson's Mills NC. Social distancing and Face coverings are required. For the safety of yourself and others only 100 persons will be allowed in the sanctuary. Services will live stream on our Facebook page starting at 2:55 pm
