Mrs. Lovie Mae Davis Sanders, age of 92 of Smithfield, NC transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday August 11, 2020 at her residence. She was the daughter of Ed and Molissie Davis born in Johnston County, NC January 11, 1928. Mrs. Lovie was married to the late Donzell Sanders.
Mrs. Sanders attended Johnston County Schools and was employed at Champion Products in Clayton for a number of years until she began to have health issues. Following the time at Champion Products she became a full time housewife to raise her children.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Molissie Davis, husband Donzell Sanders, siblings; Rosa Holmes, Avallie Cox, Rena Mae Davis, Adell Jones, Ardell Hooks, Rubystine Price, Myrtle Bryant, Pearline McDaniel, Wyatt Davis, Arthur Davis and Sherman Davis.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving children; Lena M. Leach, Ernestine Rawlings, Evangeline Richardson, Edna Sanders, Iradell Sanders, Judy Pugh, Clyde Lorine Atkinson, Betty Futrell, Mary Welch (granddaughter she raised) 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Service Information
Viewing/Visitation: Saturday August 15th from 12:00 noon until 5:00pm at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel, 302 S. Bright Leaf Blvd., Smithfield, NC. Face Coverings are Required to EnterGraveside Services: Sunday August 16th 11:00 am at Selma Memorial Gardens Selma, NC. (Face Coverings are Required). Services will live stream on our Facebook page starting at 10:55 am.

Message: Family, Please know that my prayers and my most sincere condolences are with you all during this difficult time. Mrs. Lovie was a beautiful soul, with a kind heart and a gentle spirit. She captured my heart the moment I met her. I will never forget the words of encouragement she gave me when my father transitioned and I will never forget how, no matter what you were through, her smile would make you feel like all was well. While I know this day is painful, it is well, family. She is resting peacefully in the arms of God now. I am so very grateful to God for allowing my path to cross with Mrs. Lovie and with all of you. She will live forever in my heart. May God continue to bless you all and may he give you strength as you lay our Angel to rest.
