Mrs. Mary Elizabeth White Mitchener was born on January 21, 1920 in Wilson Mills North Carolina township of Johnston County, to the late Oliver and Nina Mitchener. Mrs. Mary E. White Mitchener passed quietly away on Tuesday January 21, 2020 at the UNC Johnston Health Clayton surrounded by loving family members.
She attended Johnston County Training School and later attended Johnston Technical where she took a short course in Elderly Care. She later retired from the Johnston County School System.
Mary leaves a legacy and precious memories to 3 Sons; Edward D. White, (Gloria) Smithfield, NC, Henry White, Jr., Buffalo, NY, and Charles L. White, Sr. Clayton, NC; 2 Daughters; Sylvia Whitley,(Cornell) Wilson Mills, NC and Vivian Leggett, Dunn, NC; Daughter-in-Law; Maxine Mitchener, Raleigh, NC, 21 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great, Great Grandchildren.
The family of Mrs. Mary E. Mitchener will be receiving guest at the home of Edward D. White, 1118 Barbour Rd. Smithfield, NC 27577. The family may also be reached at 919-934-2549 between the hours of 3pm and 8pm.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Mitchener will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 25, 2020 at St. Peter DOC 1011 Massey Street Smithfield, NC. Viewing will be from 12:30 until 1:00 pm.
