Alice McDonald Sanders aka “True” as she was affectionately called, was born May 29, 1948. Her parents were Maxwell and Julia Watson McDonald.
She departed this life on Thursday, January 23, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Maxwell McDonald and Julia Watson Kent, sisters; Gladys Rhue and Carolyn Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memories one sister; Shirley Kent of Selma, NC, one brother; Mack C. McDonald (Patricia) of Selma, NC, three children; Roderick McDonald (Monica) of Bowie, MD, Kelly McDonald of Smithfield, NC, Kimberly McNeil of Garner, NC, seven grandchildren; Tabitha McDonald, Teresa McDonald, Scott McNeil, Ricky McDonald, Rodney McDonald, Dontrell McDonald, Ashlee McNeil, thirteen great grandchildren, a host of nieces nephews and friends.
Funeral arrangements for Ms. Alice “True” McDonald Sanders are scheduled for 11:00 am Monday January 27, 2020 at the St. Peter Disciple of Christ Church located at 1011 Massey St., Smithfield, NC.
The family will also receive guests Sunday January 26 at the Walter Sanders Chapel from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

Message: My deepest sympathy goes out to the family. You have truly lost an angel and she will be forever missed.. I remember the last time I spoke with Mrs Alice, and she reminded me of how we used to work together and she complimented on how well we were together and that touched my heart, because even in her sickness she remained humble and always managed to smile and acknowledge whomever was in the room. Rest in peace Mrs Alice, Love you always!
