Mr. Alexander Reginald Pettiway, age 55 passed away on Saturday April 25, 2020 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC. Mr. Pettiway was born October 28, 1964 in Kenly, NC. His parents were Alexander and Helen Pettiway.

He was  1983 graduate of North Johnston High School and a graduate of Fayetteville State University.

Officer Pettiway was a Senior Detention Officer with the Durham County Sheriff's Office. He had been employed for twenty-three years.

Mr. Pettiway leaves a sister, Debbie Pettiway-Whitley, a brother Darren Jerome Pettiway both of Kenly, NC, one niece, four nephews, one aunt, Josephine Pettiway of Selma, NC and host of cousins and friends.

There will be a public viewing Thursday April 30th at the Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The family will have a private graveside service on Friday May 1st at 12:00 noon which will be live streamed on our Facebook page.
